I love and live what I do. I am Jason Zheng, and my life is a journey woven between two worlds — one of ancient heritage, and one of endless possibilities.

Born and raised in China until the age of 11, I grew up surrounded by the sounds, smells, and traditions of Chinese culture. At 12, I immigrated to the United States. Like many first-generation Chinese-American kids, I thought my future would follow a familiar path — running a restaurant, managing a small business, building a modest but stable life. Yet deep inside, I knew I wanted something different, something more.

Even as I learned to navigate American life, my heart never strayed far from my roots. I spent my free time reading about Chinese history, exploring traditional arts, and immersing myself in the rich world of cultural heritage. My fascination with scent began early — I collected more than 30 different types of perfumes and fragrances, constantly seeking that elusive note that could capture a feeling, a memory.

But it wasn’t until I discovered Chinese incense — Xian Xiang (线香) — that everything clicked into place. Unlike anything I had ever experienced, Chinese incense was a universe of its own: diverse, ancient, delicate, and deeply healing. It wasn't just about fragrance; it was about philosophy, about wellbeing, about connecting with history through something as simple and profound as scent.

The more I learned, the more I realized something important: while China has a treasure trove of incense culture, stretching back thousands of years, it has rarely been shared with the wider world. This beautiful, intricate craft had remained largely hidden, absent from the global stage.

I knew then that I had found my mission.

I devoted myself to studying the art of incense making — learning from master artisans, understanding every step of the process, respecting the ancient techniques while thinking about how they could speak to modern lives. Working closely with skilled incense craftsmen, I founded Memoricall to share the true spirit of Chinese incense with the world: the craftsmanship, the natural purity, and the cultural depth that can evoke memory, emotion, and connection.

Over time, I realized that I am not alone. Many people today are looking for something more — a deeper connection to culture, to history, to meaning. Memoricall is born from this desire: to create incense that doesn’t just scent a room, but tells a story. Incense that invites people to slow down, to remember, to belong.
